Custom Models

What are custom models?

These allow you to introduce your very own custom designed item into to the server resource pack so that both you and other players can see it should they be using our pack. You decide whether or not other players can purchase your item from in-game stores or not, however you yourself cannot make any in-game profit for it should you choose it can be sold publicly in-game.

All purchased custom models are made to order by our skilled 3D Modelling Team in Blockbench. Each model is designed to your specifications, and you'll be able to request up to two revisions or changes inside of your commission after the modeller has shown you the their final creation within a Discord text channel upon redeeming a custom item/vehicle/furniture.

We recommend discussing your ideas with a 3D Modeller before purchasing a Custom Model to ensure that what you're requesting is possible.

Custom Models are cosmetic only, and cannot have exclusive features that aren't already available on public items, e.g. being edible, or using acting as a phone. This means that your item is effectively a 'skin'.

Custom Vehicles

When requesting a Custom Vehicle, you can request any realistic-looking vehicle. It may only have 1 seat, 2 seats, or 4 seats.

All vehicles have the same base statistics for speed, acceleration, breaking, etc. as a vehicle of the same type purchasable in-game, once again making a 'Custom Vehicle' purely cosmetic, e.g. if you requested a super car, it would have the same speed as a motorbike or family vehicle regardless of its real life counterpart.

Custom Items

You can request any realistic item, however as stated above, you cannot request something with an exclusive feature as they're effectively skins of already existing item types that are publicly available to anyone, e.g. hats, phones, toys, props.

Custom Furniture

You can request anything from a chair to a wooden shelf. It's important to note that with custom furniture, the only features that can be applied to them is the ability to sit on them.

How do I get a custom model?

Before you purchase anything, it is recommended that you privately message the Media coordinator with what you want to request. It is important that you do this, as there are guidelines that determine if your custom item idea is allowed.

It is also important to read the model guidelines found in this category, as well as the indications found in our server store before you proceed with your purchase.

Buying a Custom Model From The Roleplay Hub Store

Firstly, you'll have to head over to the server store, click on to Cosmetics & Customs, and select the pack that best fits your budget. Once the transaction has successfully taken place, you'll receive an automated e-mail with a code. This is what's called a Transaction ID. Make sure you keep this code, as you'll need it later on when redeeming your item.

If you have input the wrong information in the process of purchasing this item, or your Transaction ID doesn't work during the redeeming process, please contact Email Support.

Redeeming your purchase

Now that you've purchased your custom model, it is now time to redeem it! In order to do this, you must head over to the SchoolRP Discord Server and write this command in any of the channels: /redeem-custom [transaction-id].

Once you've done this, you will be redirected to a channel exclusively dedicated to your request. In here, you'll find instructions on what to do next.

Custom Model Progression

After you have been assigned a modeller, they will provide screenshots with progress of your custom item(s). It is important that you give feedback on your modeller's work, as our first and foremost priority will be that the final product is up to your expectations

However, do note that modellers have limitations imposed by Minecraft: Java Edition and/or the overall style SchoolRP modellers use. For more information on this, feel free to contact the model coordinator.

Moreover, modellers often find that they've been assigned a lot of requests, which results in their progress being slowed down. However, if your modeller has not started your custom model whatsoever within 14 days of redeeming your slot, the model coordinator will re-assign your item to another available modeller.

Custom Model Completion and Implementation

Once you are content with your modeller's work, you must let them know that they can submit the custom they have made for you. After this, your channel will be closed and deleted and you'll receive a DM with a preview of the finished product(s) via our Discord Bot.

After your modeller has finished your request(s), they will send it to a specific channel dedicated to model submissions.

Every Friday, the Media coordinator will look through this channel and implement all of the submitted models into the server's resource pack. Once this day arrives, the resource-pack found in this thread will be updated with your newly made custom model. Depending on the type of custom slot, you'll need to follow specific steps to receive your custom model in game. However, most custom items will be handed out to you without having to pay for any extra price.

How can I get copies of my custom items?

Now that you have your desired custom item, you may be interested in sharing this cosmetic piece with your friends. Do note that you can't get infinite copies, and that there are specific limitations. Depending your custom slot's type, you will need to follow a specific path to request copies of i:

  • Custom Items & Furniture. Submit a copy request in our dedicated forum.

  • Custom Weapons. Contact the Black Market Lead via Discord to request custom copies of your weapons.

  • Custom Vehicles. You may not request copies of your custom vehicles.

Moreover, you'll also have to execute the following command in game to pay for your custom items, replacing the money amount with the price for your custom item /taxpay models [amount].

When it comes to how much a custom copy costs, you can find the prices in the Copy Requests forum in the case of normal items/furniture, or you'll be told by the Black Market Lead in the case of custom weapons and vehicles. Moreover, you can't request more than 8 copies per week.

It is important to note that you also can't make profit from trying to re-sell these custom copies. Custom items are meant to be cosmetic equipment that contribute to roleplay scenarios. Therefore, using these to try and make profit illegitimately will result in your item's becoming public, even without your consent.

How can I make my item public?

If you wish to make your custom item public so that the entire server can enjoy the item you have made for yourself, you have three options that you can choose depending on the nature of your item:

  • For custom items and furniture, you can contact a shopkeeper or a faction lead to see if they're interested in buying/accepting your item as theirs. This way, you'll be able to sell your top hat to a hat shop so that other new players can also wear it! Likewise, you could also give away an item such as a neck-held camera to the News faction if they're interested in it.

  • For custom weapons, the only method to make it available to other players is by contacting a BMD via in-character means, and offering to sell them the ownership of your custom item so it can be distributed among the crime community

  • For custom vehicles, we generally do not accept these offers. However, you can always privately message the Media Coordinator.

In any case, it is important to know that, once you've given away / sold the ownership of your custom to make it public, you will no longer have access to requesting copies of it. However, you can always get these items via In-Character means, just like the rest of the player-base.

What do I do if my model has been removed without my permission?

Models are usually removed when their owners have been permanently banned from the network for longer than 1 year, or if they have been inactive for longer than 6 months. We do this to help reduce our resource pack size which in turn helps speed up loading times.

If you are still a member of the SchoolRP community and you find that your item has been removed without your consent, you must privately contact the Media Team Coordinator, or the Owner who will be able to re-add your model to the resource pack (if the model has been lost, you will be able to re-request the model).

Can I model my own custom item for the server?

Sadly, no. All assets used in SchoolRP must be made by members of the Media Team. Even if you do have experience with Blockbench and wish to make it yourself, the only members of the community that can submit models are official 3D Modellers apart of our Media Team.

Can I have an old model remade to look better?

If you own a model that has an old style that doesn't fit Minecraft, you can ask a modeller or the Media coordinator to consider re-modelling it with a new style. However, do note that many of these remake requests are not eligible depending on the case.

Can I pass the ownership of my item/vehicle to another player?

Sadly, no. You may not pass the ownership of your custom item to anyone else. This is to avoid confusion when requesting custom copies. This also applies to custom vehicles, meaning that you can't give away your vehicle to anyone else.

Can my model be remade after it has been submitted?

The short answer is no, sadly. If you wish to make any modifications to your model, you should ask for them during the process of making your model. On the other hand, if you see any unintended features found in your custom model (e.g. texture bugs, incorrect positioning, etc.), you can contact your modeller or the Media Coordinator or Owner.
